Enable AirDrop Over Ethernet & AirDrop On Unsupported Macs Running OS X 10.7

I just tried to do a “simple” file transfer from one Mac to another, both using Mountain Lion and AirDrop. It was stupid to assume that linking them with an Ethernet cable would make things massively fast – they didn’t even show up in AirDrop unless you use Wifi. Below is the answer, tweak your OS to let this happen over Ethernet and watch file transfer fly along. Wasn’t Apple supposed to make things easy?
